Homeopathy for animals—does it work?

In the November 2007 edition of their report entitled “The Homeopathic Treatment of Animals in Europe,” the Council reviewed results from organic farmers and pet owners treating injuries, chronic conditions, and behavior problems in their animals.
The non-human patients in this study made their homes in Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Norway, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. They included
• Canaries
• Cattle
• Cats
• Dogs
• Horses
• Parrots
• Pigs
Ailments included
• Allergies
• Behavioral issues
• Coughs
• Diabetes
• Eczema
• Epilepsy
• Eye infections
• Gastrointestinal upset
• Hormonal imbalances
• Infectious diseases
• Kidney disease
• Liver disease
• Mastitis
• Paralysis
• Thyroid conditions
• Urinary tract infectionsH
Homeopathic treatment provided relief for multiple conditions and breeds. In farm animals intended for market, homeopathic remedies also resulted in reduced antibiotic use, which is now mandatory for organically grown food in the European Union.
