No matter what the holidays mean to you—an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, a chance to relax and unwind, a time to celebrate your faith, an occasion for good food and fellowship, or a season of loneliness— the following can contribute to your happiness during winter holidays. Add
• Anything that keeps you warm and comfortable
Cuddle up in cozy sweaters, fuzzy slippers, flannel sheets, warm hats and mittens in addition to your winter coat

Arnica for trauma or a loss that takes you completely by surprise

• Aromatherapy
Start by thinking of your favorite holiday foods/drinks and the scents you associate with them (cinnamon, cloves, ginger, lemon, and vanilla come to mind)
A little frankincense can also boost immunity

• A light box if your body needs more sunlight—10000 lux at 1 ft. distance for 20-30 minutes in the morning is best particularly for those with Seasonal Affective Disorder

Magnesium muriaticum and Pulsatilla to quell feelings of abandonment that come with the loss of a parent or caregiver

Natrum sulphuricum for depression, especially if you react to changes in weather

Pulsatilla for anxiety with sadness, weepiness, and feeling isolated

• Relaxing music

Sepia for exhaustion from responsibilities, especially those you may experience with SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)

•Singing
Reduces stress, improves breathing, boosts immunity, and enhances recall/memory, all of which can also lead to greater happiness

• Laughter
Laughter has been shown to improve immune function for hours so watch your favorite comedies

• Vitamin D and/or foods that are fortified with this vitamin to combat depression—have your doctor check your blood levels to determine the correct dose

Don’t expect the holidays to be perfect. Make them happy instead.
