Homeopathy for sinusitis

Is your nose always congested or do you suffer from recurring sinus infections? Homeopathy can help.

Nasal congestion can be triggered by
• Poor air quality
• Allergies to foods and indoor or outdoor airborne particles
• Bacteria, fungi, or viruses (colds or the flu)
• Drastic changes in temperature

Sinusitis, which usually includes pressure and fullness above the cheek bones or in the forehead, occurs when nasal passages and sinus cavities become swollen and inflamed—due to any of the above—preventing drainage from the sinuses. Clogged sinuses contribute to bacterial growth, which leads to further inflammation and pain. Sometimes polyps in the nose may block the airways. Make sure you are evaluated by a licensed healthcare practitioner, to have proper monitoring and not miss treatment with antibiotics if they are necessary. Here is how homeopathy can help.

First and foremost, homeopathy treats the whole person. A nasal discharge is simply a signal to your homeopath that other systems in your body may not be operating properly. Your remedy will match your unique needs.
Aconitum napellus to  treat symptoms after cold exposure
Allium cepa for a stuffy nose and burning, teary eyes with cold symptoms
Eupatorium perfoliatum and Gelsemium with weakness and achy muscles to reduce flu-like symptoms (but get checked by a doctor if symptoms are unchanged after 24-48 hours)
Hepar sulph for congestion along with lung complaints like asthma, bronchitis, and sensitivity to air pollution, cold air, exhaust, perfume, and smoke with chilliness and productive cough, with yellowish green and thick mucus
Natrum muriaticum for runny nose and watery eyes, often with light  sensitivity and tendency to canker sores and cracked lips
Pulsatilla for upper respiratory discharges that are yellowish or creamy with thirstlessness, sadness, weepiness, and longing for affection, better in the open air
Silicea to combat the germs that are perceived as foreign invaders and are causing congestion in the process, with sensitivity to drafts, noise, startling, irritability, and chilliness

You may also want to
• Eliminate as many allergens as possible—culprits to consider are dairy, dust, gluten, mold, pet dander, pollen, perfume, and smoke
• Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face when out in public (at school, in the workplace, at community events)
•  Drink more water—to flush out toxins—and pineapple juice—to combat inflammation and decrease congestion
• Consume more Vitamin C, which acts like an antihistamine for your nose
• Invest in a HEPA filter to purify the air you breathe

Stop putting up with chronic sinusitis. Seek the help of a homeopath to clear up your congestion, inflammation, and sinus pain. Very often, you will be able to stop the cycle of recurrent sinus infections and recurrent antibiotic treatment, which is not good for your health.
